VW T3 Westy Refuge 2020

2020’s adventures started rather later in the year than we anticipated due to the countrywide lockdown and global Covid-19 pandemic. Still at least they started, there was a point where we weren’t sure if we would be able to get out at all!

Barnsworth and Tobermory happy to be on the road again

So, what did we choose for our first outing, well a trip to Shropshire of course, the first 3 days of which was a rather pleasant meet up with a whole bunch of other T3 Westfalia owners.

There were westies of all varieties, from Atlantics and Californias to Jokers and the odd LT Florida.

Little red van and friends

The little red van was quite happy to see its friends again, and we were fairly pleased too! I for one met some lovely new people who, previous to this, had just been names an teeny pictures on Facebook!

Aside from meeting some pretty good people, the refuge was based at Foxholes campsite in Bishops Castle Shropshire. This is not a part of Shropshire to which we have ventured until now, it is well worth a visit. We have walked parts of the Shropshire way, visited the very pretty town of Bishops castle, had tasty cake and met two very friendly cats, not bad for the start of an adventure I can tell you!
