Way back at the start of this blog we presented our little red van. Purchased in December 2016, it has been a brilliant little adventure van!

During the summer of 2020 we decided (after a lot of long and hard deliberation) that this little red van needed a friend. Ok, to put it another (an more accurate), a van came up for sale and we decided that the opportunities to own this type of van were vanishingly few so we decided that a second van would be a brilliant thing to have.

Yes, a second van.

We are not selling Little Red Van 1 we have decided that we should have 2.

So, in June 2020 we became the proud custodians of a VW Atlantic Syncro T3 Van.

Atlantic Syncros are an extremely rare breed of van (there are 16…), and this was almost certainly the only opportunity we would ever have to own one. This particular Atlantic Syncro has an interesting history, and has already been on some excellent adventures. It is, in fact, a little bit famous, at least within VW circles…

This van used to be the property, and, in fact the home, of the Chef Campers. They traveled to all sorts of far flung places in this little van, including, but not limited to, Norway, France, inside the Arctic Circle and Portugal. This little van was well used and well loved, it was a home as well as an adventure van and it has seen some brilliant places.

Now it is ours, and we can only hope to have such amazing adventures in it!

First of all however, as with all 30+ yr old vehicles (especially those that have been well used), it needs a little bit of TLC. So our first order of business is to give it a bit of an overhaul to make sure it stands up to another 30 years of excellent adventures!
